Wildlife Habitat Trust makes it easier for clubs to buy land.....BASC Release
23 September 2009
.
immediate release
Wildfowling clubs will now be able to borrow 60% of the cost of the land they want to buy from the Wildlife Habitat Trust.
The WHT trustees decided to increase the amount of money that can be borrowed by wildfowling clubs from 40% to 60% at a meeting last week.
This means that wildfowling clubs will be able to get the majority of their money from the WHT which will simplify financial planning. In addition, the WHT interest rate remains at 3% which is more competitive than the interest available from most commercial lenders.
WHT secretary, Tim Russell, said: We have recently seen an increase in the number of applications for WHT loans which is very pleasing. The change from 40% to 60% loans will make it even easier for wildfowling clubs to buy land to protect it for shooting and conservation.
