Great day yesterday, started off ging to see big pete at http://www.clayshootingrus.co.uk/ for some pigeon shells. Nearly bought a miroku 28 bore but sadly the voice of reason (Mrs fuz) was with me
On to the shoot, saw the farmer and he said remember the fox hounds are coming through today. Didnt know this so something to look forward too
Took the Remi out for the first time in ages and shot quite well with it. Found I have an ideal pair of dogs for shooting a semi-auto, Sam (the Lab) goes to pick the pigeon and Jasper (The Spaniel) hunts round and retrieves the empty shell case for me
Heard a load of "View haloos" about 4pm, was quite worried how a pack of foxhounds would react to our 2 in the wood so unloaded, put the dogs on leads and walked out into the field so we could be seen.
First time I had encountered the Hunt and have to say very friendly bunch, the main pack and I assume hunt master? (red coat) stopped for a quick chat whilst the hound master? (yellow coat) worked the dogs through the rest of the wood. Jasper wasnt interested at all but sam wanted to go off and join the pack
Ended up with 10 pigeon a rook and a crow, Mrs fuz shot 1 pigeon but that doesnt count, she shot it out of a tree she is still struggling with the live stuff, just goes to show what a big difference there is between shooting gun up to a clay where you know where its coming from and going to and gun down to a jinking pigeon.
Sadly no pictures as my phone camera is garbage and I didnt know the hunt was coming through else I would have put my decent camera in the gamebag.

Sounds like a good day, think your missus is thinking about a holiday, not another gun
Seen a few small flocks round here for a change, feeding on clover, have to see if I get chance this week to have a go
