I bait my catch alive trap with my fihing groundbait,(strong vanilla smell)
if you want to shoot them with an air rifle, you want to use something like this ,as they will sit still and try to feed off it,
do'nt put out any larger things like lumps of bread,as they will just dash out pick it up and run away with it,befor you can get a shot off.

All the best Mick.

try marmite chocolate spread or the old faithful.........peanut butter.
spread them on a stone or a wog, [ wump of wood ].
the rat normaly would pick up the food source and drag it off to there nest and eat it later.
with the said bait they stay there and have to eat it where it is. hey presto .take the shot..........game over. Wink

hi all, because we have horses we get our fair share of scaly tails, they actually travel from the stables to the bird table on the patio (50yds)to pick up the bits the birdies drop on the grass,I have found the killer bait is dog biscuits put in the liquidizer till they are coarse powder then put little clumps out on the patio and then its just a case of waiting, the record between me and my daughter is 15 in one evening, with my daughters AA s200 at about 15 yds range it wasn't really fair, but it was still good sport,Terry

put a tin of dog food out but just stab the tin with a knife or screwdriver the meat will seep out and they sit there for ages feeding.

Cool
